Jim Byrd has been a part of the Metroplex photography industry since 1986.

After serving in the Navy as a ship's photographer, he furthered his career with a degree in Photography from Sam Houston State University. 

After returning home from Huntsville, he quickly went to work for Lee Angle Photography, the premiere commercial photographer in the area. Here he learned the craft of product photography.

Then, wanting to learn more, he quickly went to work for the late LC Gilstrap in his portrait studio.  His duties included photographing seniors, families, weddings, and the occasional corporate event.

Next up was being a staff photographer for Tandy Crafts, where he photographed their catalog.

Feeling the urge to work for himself and deciding that portrait photography was where his future lay, he established Jim Byrd Photography in 1983.

Since then he has photographed over 1000 weddings, countless engagement sessions, bridal sessions, and families.

Now, he's focused on high school seniors, school sports, families, charity events, and corporate events.
