December 30, 2015 was a good day for a wedding. Kayley & Caulin tied the knot at Aristide Event Center. They had the ceremony & reception in the main ballroom . Kayley found the Aristide a year before they got married, signing the contract under the original owners within a month! Kayley fell in love with the place just by the pictures found on google and their website. They offered everything the couple could want and possibly do.
Kayley is a Bliss Bride!! She originally found her dress on another salon’s website, then called everywhere to see if she could try it on to make sure that was what she wanted but no one had it. She made an appointment with Bliss and was going through their racks when she saw it and didn’t bother looking for anything else. When she put it on and walked out, it made her cry, she was so happy and in love with the way the dress made her feel. It was perfect in every way! The bride’s hair was done by Joe and makeup was done by Lindsey. They both work at Salon Cheveux as hair dressers. Their whole staff is awesome! Kayley says she wouldn’t trust anyone else to touch her hair! She found her shoes at Group USA in Grapevine Mills mall. She wasn’t sure what exactly she wanted for wedding shoes but when she found these, she knew they were perfect! They were high, they were painful but they were worth it!! She also took into consideration the fact that those shoes would be seen after she changed dresses, so she was happy to find some with the colors of the wedding. Some of the jewelry had special meaning to Kayley, such as the diamond earring her parents gave her from a trip a few years back. The necklace was a gift from Caulin, and it matched the design of the engagement ring! She also wore a bracelet (again, a gift from Caulin) that was given the day they shopped for engagement rings.
Both the groom and the groomsmen’s tuxedos came from Tuxedo Junction.
The theme/style was, was winter forest. They had tree branches in the background of the ceremony and other tree branches and decorative sticks as the center pieces on the tables. There were three different type of center pieces, so they all varied. The colors were white, silver and red.
The flowers were red roses & white hydrangeas, ordered from Sams Club. Kayley had a red rose bouquet, and the bridesmaids all had white roses.
Belinda, of Sweetsbybelinda.com made both cakes! They were delicious from what the bride & groom were told! The wedding cake had three flavors: Vanilla (bottom), chocolate (middle) and red velvet (top). The Grooms cake was chocolate.
Oliver’s Fine Foods was the caterer. They had chicken, green beans & mash potatoes. Which type of chicken Kayley couldn’t remember. But when they did the food tasting, she liked all of the chicken dishes they brought out. Caulin was the food picker for the wedding. They also had a s’mores bar outside for guests to enjoy. During cocktail hour they served bacon wrapped shrimp and beef empanadas.
Oh those wedding favors. Kayley’s mom has always given homemade hot chocolate mix to teachers and friends a Christmas gifts every year. So Caulin and Kayley hand assembled the boxes and the chocolate that went into them and attached the bows. She had help from her bridesmaids but it was a long annoying process, but it was worth it! Everyone took theirs home! There also was a photo booth which printed an unlimited amount of photos for guests. Most all of the guests got pictures in the photo booth!
Kayley also made a dress change, she says, for a couple of reasons. The first being her wedding dress was really big!! AND the dance the had choreographed was far too complicated to do in a dress that big!
Kayley says the most memorable moment for her was Caulin’s best man’s speech. You see, that was Caulin’s brother, Michael. Leading up to the wedding, he was unsure of what he might say, and Kayley was a bit worried. But Michael did a wonderful job, and she says she will never forget his speech!
We want to wish the newlyweds lots of love & luck in the future, and thank them for inviting us on this journey!
