Sarah & T Jay ~ Best Friends

Fort Worth engagement, Fort Worth engagement photographer, Austin Ranch engagement, Fort Worth wedding photographer

Their story began in 2006.  Sarah saw T Jay out with friends one night, and she fell love with his smile. A mutual friend actually introduced them to one another.  But it was a whole year & 1/2 before T Jay asked for that first date.  They became best friends!

It was eight & half years later, on Christmas Eve 2015, that T Jay finally proposed, and what a proposal!  They were opening presents, and Sarah opened a small box with a snow globe inside.  Inside the snow globe was a picture (T Jay had drawn by hand) of them, as they looked right then, with T Jay proposing!  It took Sarah a minute or two before she realized it was real, and he was down on one knee in front of her, proposing!  She cried, and cried some more,  then said yes!

Their relationship has been full of ups and downs, trials and tribulations and everything in between. It hasn’t always been easy but both knew they would get there one day.  They are a perfect example of two people who never gave up on each other, worked hard to get where they are today and couldn’t  be more excited to spend the rest of their lives with their best friend. Together with their sweet fur baby, Ellie, who is their pride & joy, they are looking  forward to starting this next chapter in their lives. It will be a September wedding surrounded by close friends and family in a little chapel tucked away off the back roads of Texas.  Congrats to all three of you, can’t wait for the wedding!!

Rebecca & Michael ~ 4th of July Proposal

Fort Worth engagement, Fort Worth engagement photographer, Fort Worth Stockyards, engagement photos

Rebecca & Michael met while working on campus in a dining hall at Texas Tech during the fall of 2013. They were friendly for a few months, but somehow  never officially introduced, so neither knew the other’s name. Rebecca had a bit of a crush on Michael, but didn’t say anything until the day he turned in his two weeks notice in March. After that she tried to talk more to him, but could never manage to ask for his number. Right before his last day, a mutual friend (who knew that Rebecca liked him) finally told him, and his response was “Who’s Rebecca?”. After the friend explained,  Michael  found out when her next shift was and came that day to ask for her number. They became official two weeks later, &  their anniversary is actually coming up on the 12th of April.

On the fourth of July, Michael took her out to a fireworks show, since they couldn’t shoot any off themselves & she loves fireworks. Afterwards he took Rebecca to the Rockwall harbor where they walked along the path by the water. He showed her a few pretty areas, including a lighthouse, all the while fireworks went off in the sky above them. They had been looking at rings and talking about it for awhile, so Rebecca was  anticipating a proposal, but for the past two months anytime she thought he might ask, he never did. The whole of 4th of July night she kept trying to see if he had a ring box anywhere on him, thinking she was being so secretive, but never found one.

Then a few minutes before midnight he took her near this big fountain and played their song on his phone while they danced together under the moonlight. He had been taking pictures  all night and at this point suggested that she turn and do a “guns up” for Texas Tech, and she stood there waiting for the flash to go off.  When the flash never came, she turned around he was down on one knee with the ring in his hand (and no box), and gave a beautiful speech before asking Rebecca to marry him.

Kayley & Caulin~Aristide wedding

December 30, 2015 was a good day for a wedding.  Kayley & Caulin tied the knot at Aristide Event Center.  They had the ceremony &  reception in the main ballroom . Kayley found the Aristide a year before they got married, signing the contract under the original owners within a month! Kayley fell in love with the place just by the pictures  found on google and their website. They offered  everything the couple could want and possibly do.

Kayley is a Bliss Bride!!  She originally found her dress on another salon’s website, then called everywhere to see if she could try it on to make sure that was what she wanted but no one had it. She made an appointment with Bliss and was going through their racks when she saw it and didn’t bother looking for anything else. When she put it on and walked out, it made her cry, she was so happy and in love with the way the dress made her  feel. It was perfect in every way!  The bride’s hair was done by Joe and makeup was done by Lindsey. They both work at Salon Cheveux as hair dressers. Their whole staff is awesome! Kayley says she wouldn’t trust anyone else to touch her hair!   She found her shoes at Group USA in Grapevine Mills mall.  She wasn’t sure what exactly she wanted for  wedding shoes but when she found these,  she knew they were perfect! They were high, they were painful but they were worth it!! She also took into consideration the fact that those shoes would be seen after she changed dresses, so she was happy to find some with the colors of the wedding.  Some of the jewelry had special meaning to Kayley, such as the diamond earring her parents gave her from a trip a few years back. The necklace was a gift from Caulin, and it matched the  design of the engagement ring!  She also wore a bracelet (again, a gift from Caulin) that was given the  day they shopped for engagement rings.

Both the groom and the groomsmen’s tuxedos came from Tuxedo Junction.

The theme/style was, was winter forest. They had tree branches in the background of the ceremony and other tree branches and decorative sticks as the center pieces on the tables. There were three different type of center pieces, so they all varied. The colors were white, silver and red.

The flowers were red roses & white hydrangeas, ordered from Sams Club.  Kayley had a red rose bouquet, and the bridesmaids all had white roses.

Belinda, of  made both cakes! They were delicious from what the  bride & groom were told! The  wedding cake had three flavors: Vanilla (bottom), chocolate (middle) and red velvet (top). The Grooms cake was chocolate.

Oliver’s Fine Foods was the caterer. They had chicken, green beans & mash potatoes. Which type of chicken Kayley couldn’t remember.   But when they did the food tasting, she liked all of the chicken dishes they brought out. Caulin was the food picker for the wedding. They also had a s’mores bar outside for guests to enjoy. During cocktail hour they served bacon wrapped shrimp and beef empanadas.

Oh those wedding favors. Kayley’s mom has always given homemade hot chocolate mix to teachers and friends a Christmas gifts every year. So Caulin and Kayley hand assembled the boxes and the chocolate that went into them and attached the bows. She had help from her bridesmaids but it was a long annoying process, but it was worth it! Everyone took theirs home! There also was a photo booth which printed an unlimited amount of photos for guests. Most all of the guests got pictures in the photo booth!

Kayley also made a dress change, she says, for a couple of reasons.  The first being her wedding dress was really big!!  AND the dance the had choreographed was far too complicated to do in a  dress that big!

Kayley says the most memorable moment for her was Caulin’s best man’s speech.  You see, that was Caulin’s brother, Michael.  Leading up to the wedding, he was unsure of what he might say, and Kayley was a bit worried.  But Michael did a wonderful job, and she says she will never forget his speech!

We want to wish the newlyweds lots of love & luck in the future, and thank them for inviting us on this journey!

Kayley ~ A Bliss Bride at Aristide

It’s hard to “sit” on bridal portraits.  But it’s especially hard when the bride is such a lovely girl, the dress spectacular, and the venue is awesome!  We waited patiently until after the wedding (those photos to come!) to share our girl!  So on a chilly day in November, we met with Kayley & her parents at Aristide for her bridal session.  To say that Kayley made a beautiful bride is an understatement.

Kayley found HER dress at Bliss Bridal.  Wendy & her staff truly outdid themselves helping Kayley find just the right dress, don’t you think?  The dress enhanced Kayley’s natural beauty perfectly.  We love our Bliss Bridal brides!  It was a given that she wanted her bridals photographed at her wedding venue.  Aristide is one of the most photogenic venues in the DFW area.  Between the gorgeous dress, dramatic venue, and beautiful girl, it was easy to capture great portraits!   There are so many different areas to place our bride for that perfect photograph, but Kayley was up for the challenge.

We had such fun with Kayley & her parents.  Her dad helped with our lights, and Kayley’s mom helped to keep the dress under control, and keep Kayley warm!  Mom did a good job at that, because the bride doesn’t look cold at all!  It was a very chilly November day!    Thank you for the help, and allowing us to photograph your beautiful daughter!

Kayley’s wedding was the last week of December. We can hardly wait to post highlights of the wedding.  They will be coming soon!
