Sarah & TJay ~ Worth the wait

Nine years, yes, Sarah & TJay dated nine years before tying the knot.  But that’s a blessing, really, because by then, the two of them knew exactly how they wanted their wedding day to go.  They chose The Brooks At Weatherford for the venue.  The country feel & details fit their lifestyle perfectly.  Sarah said that getting married there was much like a dream, and the fact the sides on the chapel opened up giving the feel of the outdoors put the whole ceremony over the top.

A rustic elegance with a country flair was the goal.  And everything worked just as planned, except for the fact that Ellie, their precious fur baby couldn’t be in attendance to see her people tie the knot.

Sarah’s dress came from Lulu’s Bridal, which is located in the Arts District of Dallas.  The dress, by Allure, was ivory lace with a sweetheart neckline.  She added a rhinestone belt for a bit of sparkle.  Ariat boots completed her look, what better for a country girl?

Sarah & Tjay wanted a small, intimate affair, so in keeping with that, Sarah had her sister as maid of honor while TJay’s best man was his father.  They wore tan sport coats, jeans and cowboy boots, in keeping with the country feel.

The ladies hair was done by Miss Tuesdee Bridal Hair.  Sarah says she’s amazing, too!

Flowers were a mix of silk and fresh roses, hydrangeas and baby’s breath. Flowers were coral, light pink and creams and whites. Arrangements were made by  TJay’s mom. Fresh bouquets were made by Albertsons floral in Weatherford, they saved Sarah after a disaster at a previous florist.

The cakes & cupcakes were made by Fleur de Vie Bakery (a family member).  Various flavors of red velvet, raspberry and almond cake with cream cheese frosting.

Catering was the Mesquite Pit BBQ in Weatherford, TX.  It was  a buffet bbq dinner to match the rustic setting. They were  chosen  because they are local and one of the couple’s favorite bbq places in Weatherford.  Sweet tea, water and open bar of beer and wine was also served.

Siesta Key was the honeymoon destination (my personal favorite spot on Earth!).  Neither Sarah nor TJay had ever been to Florida.  A friend loaned them a condo, and they had a whole week to sunbath, fish, go to Disney, tour all the museums, and eat!

Sarah says is was an amazing day, and such an honor that family & friends would come from out of town, just to celebrate with them.
